We’re sailing at the same parallel as Bombay at this moment! Sending happy thoughts your way…
It’s been an eventful day today. A week since we left Madeira and finally we are well and truly in the tropics. A blazing sunset in the west is accompanied by a cool blue moonrise in the east.
The morning started with a volley of flying fish hitting the deck and once whacking Andrew in the back. Oz decided to use them as bait and managed to snag a Dourado. A beautiful silver blue fish, almost 2 feet long. We cleaned it up and cooked it Zulu style under Sir Robin’s direction. His cook on his ship taught him 40 years ago.
We had the fish with wine and beer at happy hour today. Mark’s music lent the evening a lovely touch.
One appreciates fresh food even more when you’re down to the last of the fruits and eating tinned food. In celebration we also put up the Christmas decor. The lounge looks festive with pale blue lights and snow coloured tinsel.
The day was then made better when a school of dolphins came along to play. They wove effortlessly through the water, ducking from one side to the other on the boat’s bow.
Just grateful to be here, to be alive!
