Madhushala

The tavern en route to Barbados
1

Our path to Madeira has seen many challenges not least being the possibility of running out of wine before we reached! But we have doggedly kept the faith, brushed aside tempests and orcas to make our way here. We fixed the rudder and turned around from Vigo in 24 hours after the orca attack.

A captivating sunset as we leave Vigo

Neither French wine nor Spanish tapas has been allowed to sway us or deflect us from our path to the Tavern. All along as we headed to madeira(lay) we have been humming snippets from Madhushala

The words are so apt in describing our journey here. Loosely translated, the verse I’m referring to, exhorts you to stay your path regardless of the distractions and the unsought advice. Focus and your destination will be within your reach. The poem shares the message using the allusion of a drunk seeking a tavern.

A very satisfying meal at the Beerhouse with our host, Sergio

We reached this morning, did a whirlwind visit of Funchal with a cable car ride, paid our respects to Ronaldo and are set to depart tomorrow.

This will be the longest and final leg of our journey. We head to Barbados and hope to reach there by the 18th.
