Back in Goa after a while, we expected to have a few quiet days pottering around on Antara before packing her off for the season. Instead we had a delightful lineup of guests wishing to sail into the sunset with us.
S Ghosh (SG), Nirmal, Brig PC Roy and Brig Lahiri and their wives were the first to sign up. SG has sailed earlier but it was a first for everyone else. We love it that Antara is adding to the count of sailing enthusiasts!
Brig Roy is a national level wind surfer, an achievement all the more remarkable as he windsurfs singlehanded, literally. We watched him windsurf, while sailing; he then came aboard and sailed with as much agility.
Next up was our youngest sailor yet, at all of 9 months! His parents and grandparents sailed too. So did a group of teenagers, for a delayed birthday celebration on Antara.
A bunch of gals on a Goan break joined us next. They enjoyed spending time on Antara and were surprised to discover that sudden hunger pangs are a sign of seasickness too…they got away lightly!
A serious scientist and reluctant adventurer (Abhiram) was dragged aboard by his wife (Laxmi). He was a convert by the end of the day! As were the rest of the group (Gowri, Pritam and Shatakshi) who made an impromptu decision to sail with us while holidaying in Goa.
We closed the season on a high with some help from Leena Kamat Prabhu and Sheetal Pai Kane. An exciting day at sea, best captured in this video.
